Hair regrowth via Wnt/β-catenin pathway
Lee 2017 (J Invest Dermatol) showed that PTD-DBM, a peptide that disrupts CXXC5-Dishevelled binding and thereby restores Wnt/β-catenin signaling, stimulated hair regrowth and wound-induced hair neogenesis in mouse models. Combined with valproic acid (a separate Wnt activator), the effect was amplified. As of 2026, no published human RCT of PTD-DBM exists.
