What a test actually verifies

How to read a COA
A certificate of analysis packs a lot into one page. The parts that matter most:
- Identity / mass match. The measured molecular weight should match the peptide's known mass. A mismatch means it isn't what the label says.
- Purity percentage. The HPLC figure — higher is better. Reputable research peptides typically report high-90s purity.
- Batch / accession number. Ties the COA to a specific lot. A COA that doesn't match the lot you received tells you nothing about it.
- Verification link or QR. Where offered (e.g. Janoshik), confirm the report against the lab's own database rather than trusting a forwarded PDF.

What is third-party peptide testing?
An independent lab analyzes a peptide sample to confirm what it is (identity) and how pure it is, then issues a certificate of analysis (COA). Because the lab has no stake in the product, its result is more credible than a vendor's own in-house claim.
Which peptide testing lab is most trusted?
Janoshik Analytical is the de facto community standard and publishes QR-verifiable COAs. MZ Biolabs and Colmaric Analyticals are the most-cited US-based options. Results from any of the three are widely accepted as the gold standard.
How much does peptide testing cost?
It varies by lab and panel. A comprehensive panel from a US lab commonly runs in the low hundreds of dollars per sample, with turnaround typically one to two weeks. Identity-and-purity-only panels cost less than full contaminant screens.
Can I submit my own sample for testing?
